Brooke + Gerald's Story
We met for the first time when Gerald was teaching a fitness class that Brooke decided to take on a whim. Our personalities clicked, but we didn't even exchange names and the only lasting result was Brooke's sore quads. Six months later, we went on a Tinder date, not realizing we had previously met until we were deep in conversation. Neither of us had any expectation of something long term, but we accidentally kept dating, then went into business together managing vacation rentals, and then decided getting married was a good idea. There was no grand gesture, no romantic proposal, just two adults deciding we were better together than apart.
Why they chose an intimate wedding in the mountains
Neither of us are fans of pomp and circumstance and a large wedding didn't suit our personalities or desires. We decided Colorado would be a great place to get married, as it was relatively easy to travel to from Kansas City and it was a place we had enjoyed visiting multiple times while dating. We found what appeared to be the only modern home in Colorado large enough to accommodate our guests. We booked it and told our guests all they had to do was show up! Our goal was to treat those closest to us to a fun vacation with a wedding on the side. The venue didn't disappoint and we have fantastic memories of our event, done our way, and so beautifully documented by Emily.
